Babies make the world go by much faster – they change so fast, on a daily basis, that one day they are crawling, and the next they are taking steps. Measuring in weeks and months is a reality check on how quickly time flies.
I’m acutely aware of every difference a day makes in the life of Thomas – and I’ve recorded every day with video or pictures (poor thing) – and it’s amazing to see his progress towards walking (yikes!) and talking (can’t wait!).
So, the point of this blog was to make enough money to buy a camera. It was a lofty goal that I never had to reach because my grandmother (Mamaw), mom (mishy) and dad (grandad) got me the Canon Rebel XS .
The camera & the lens make all the difference in the photo – so now I’m trying to figure out lighting, angles, etc. I’m going to use automatic until I can figure the camera out.
I consider myself a photographer for two reasons: I took two whole years of black and white photography in high school- totally old school without a digital screen on the back and actual film. I was also the Photography Editor (capitalized because that was a title.) of our yearbook (nerd alert). Wait – there is a third – I LOVE photography.
And I use the camera – I use it for work, and most importantly, I use it to stalk Thomas. Not only have I documented his every move – now they are high quality photos that I can frame and turn into books. Hello, shutterfly and snapfish (whichever is running the best deal) – prepare to print some books of Thomas! (PS – if you join Flickr Pro, you get a photo book for free. I used my credit to get my dad one with photos I took of my new camera – but completely forgot to give it a title, put a date in the book, etc. Oops.)
I HIGHLY recommend this camera. I LOVE it!!!
