If you follow this blog (thank you!), you’ll know that I have a huge love for the nautical look – and Thomas’s nursery is navy and yellow with white furniture and a red & white striped chair. I am also a HUGE advocate of using furniture and artwork in a nursery that can be used in other rooms in your house later. For example, the changing top on top of the dresser can be removed and it will be a regular dresser (because it started out as a regular dresser!). We actually didn’t buy any furniture other than crib for his nursery: almost everything was a hand-me-down in his nursery. One set of drawers was in my room growing up and the other in Will’s room: glossy white paint turned them into classic pieces of furniture overnight. My mom made the drapes out of fabric I originally found online and then discovered in a local fabric shop for a great price. (fate?)

Wow! Honestly, I like the post. Hope I can have a nursery just like that. Thanks for sharing.

Decorating the nursery, for example, is one area where you can save money; your frugal decor can look every bit as beautiful as expensive designer products..

Love it! We are doing something similar with yellow and navy…what color/brand did you use for paint?
Benjamin Moore Little Angel is the paint. Thank you
