Interview with Stella & Dot Stylist, Jamie Myers:
How did you start selling Stella & Dot? I started selling Stella & Dot initially because we really needed the money. My son had a seizure which ended in a 3-day hospital stay in February and it really set us back. Being a stay-at-home-mom, I really wanted to contribute, but needed something flexible. I needed to be able to really put myself into something at the same time. I remembered that a friend of mine from Wisconsin sold Stella & Dot so I got into contact with her and signed up almost immediately! Now that I’ve been doing it for a little while, I’ve realized that it’s about so much more than money and so much more than jewelry. It’s really about a community of women.. it’s about keeping women connected, whether it’s through our businesses or through trunk shows.. we have to find a way to stay together.
What are your favorite looks for the summer? My favorite looks for summer are stacks and stacks of bracelets and fresh, bold colors like corals and greens. I’m obsessed with our Renegade bracelet (and am so happy it’s now in silver. Hand-painted enamel is also super cute and we have a ton of bracelets to add to your bracelet stacks that suit both trends!
Tell us about the business and what you love about it! Stella & Dot is a social-selling company in which independent stylists have the ability to run their own businesses their own way. We sell our hip, celebrity-coveted jewelry through exclusive in-home trunk shows and in our e-boutiques. Stella & Dot has seen incredible growth through the recession and has created thousands of jobs for women looking for flexible and fun work. Whether it’s a hobby, part-time or full-time venture, Stella & Dot can really suit anyone. What I love about it is that our work is authentic- our stylists really do care about what we do and we really do care about bringing women together to just have fun! We like to keep it light, keep it casual and keep it stylish!
