Toddler Train Set Redesign.

We got this Imaginarium City Central Train Set for Thomas for Christmas.  I was so excited, and envisioned Thomas playing with it happily for minutes at a time.  And he does… but then he started disassembling it.  There was a brief moment of panic when I couldn’t find the instructions AND discovered the company did not post them online… and I thought I was going to be stuck with an impossible puzzle to figure out.  But I found the instructions (whew!) and I posted them online… and lots of parents daily search and find them on this blog, which makes me laugh.

Suggestion for parents that have a toddler that likes to take apart their train set:

I got very frustrated trying to put it back together everyday and per my husbands suggestion, I took out everything in the middle and just kept the loop.  It’s a small miracle: he loves to play with it (like 10 – 15 whole, uninterrupted minutes at a time!) – and he doesn’t take it apart anymore.  I guess all of those other parts were distracting.  Also, he got a Thomas the Train section for his birthday and I was able to fit that in.  I’m so excited he loves to play with his trains.

  1. I had the same frustration with my boys’ train table set — so I took another mom’s advice and super glued most of the pieces down to the table. It didn’t take long and now they can only move the non-wooden pieces (like the bridge or tunnels). This has saved me SO much time tidying up after they play!

  2. Do you happen to have the assembly instructions for the table?

    Thanks!
