I was opposed to getting a case on my iPhone until a few days ago.
I dropped my naked iPhone while getting out of the car and the screen went dark. It made noise – I could tell that someone had texted me – but couldn't see a thing on the screen. I pushed a bunch of buttons and then gave up.
I had to get a new phone for work anyway, so this prompted me to visit the Verizon store to get my new phone. I handed over my broken phone to demonstrate how it wouldn't turn on, and my friendly sales friend Leigh Ann magically made it work. And I was able to trade it in for $171!
Now I have the iPhone 5 (yayayayayayayay!!!) and she helped me find the perfect case so I would not have an accident again.
Me: “What about this pretty case with sparkles?”
Leigh Ann: “The pretty cases don't offer as much protection.”
So I got a serious case: the OtterBox Commuter Series Case. This case is built for those of us that may be accident prone but still want a slender case. This is not too bulky and I'd rather have my phone protected than have it adorned with sparkles or a monogram. I'm actually really happy with it and made the right choice. Since I am obviously a little clumsy, have a 3 year old who loves my phone, and am a frequent visitor to playgrounds – having a substantial case makes a lot of sense.
Also, my shopping experience at Verizon Wireless with Leigh Ann was fantastic. She was helpful, knowledgable, patient, cheerful and funny. If you are considering switching to Verizon or are a Verizon customer in Myrtle Beach, the store on Seaboard Street handled the volume of customers efficiently even though there was a line when they opened at 10am. I would definitely go back there.
Want one? It's available on Amazon and is on sale for $23.
