Will and I canceled cable (officially) about a month ago and our TV watching hasn’t changed much… we were mostly watching recorded shows on DVR anyway, and most are available on Hulu, Amazon Prime or Netflix. We got the Roku device, which streams everything to our TV set, and we are saving a ridiculous amount of money each month and we like our new cable-free TV show line-up.
Our newest show: Under the Dome. I think it actually airs on Tuesdays but it airs for free on Amazon Prime on Fridays. It is fascinating. An entire small town is trapped under a clear dome and there are all of these quirky side-stories between characters. Of course, throughout the show, they drop little hints about the Dome, and at the end of the show, we just want to watch the next episode to find out what happens. And we have to wait a week…
So, life without cable is great. We don’t miss it. Of course, it’s not football season yet, but we don’t miss the cable bill or the TV shows.
