The old southern phrase, popular on invitations, “dressy casual” makes sense if you've been to a dressy casual party but makes zero sense if you don't know what it means. Allow me to explain: it means you're sharply dressed but you're comfortable. Dress shirts rolled up with khaki shorts for men. Lilly Pulitzer dresses for ladies.
Let me introduce you to my new favorite kids' clothing company, Pennymeade. Pennymeade makes dressy casual clothes for kids that are unbelievably cute and high on style and quality. They were kind enough to send me a few items to review, and I was blown away when I received the clothes wrapped up in this adorable package:
What a pretty box! Perfect for a baby or birthday gift – the little details always make such a big impact when gift giving, right? (gift boxes are available for a small charge.)
Pennymeade offers a great selection of adorable, preppy, classic clothes. I especially love these navy shorts – they are a very high quality and thick fabric, and dressy enough for church or a nice occasion, but have an elastic waistband so they are perfect for a potty training tot (!) and comfortable enough for the playground. Paired with this cute white polo with plaid detail, my son was very stylish for his outing out with a friend to the park and Farmers Market this weekend!!
Later that day, we had a few birthday parties and switched it up to this cute sailboat shirt –
And he met Cocky:
Today, we met friends at Brookgreen, and he wore a seersucker shirt rolled up with his navy shorts (I washed them- everything is machine washable!) Maybe a little too dapper for an outdoor outing but doesn't he look ADORABLE??!
My little baby boy looks like such a big boy lately.
These clothes are going to last him a long time – and are pieces you can pass down to other children. They have such pretty details, are made of durable fabric, and fit very well. I got the shirts a size larger so he can wear them longer but the shorts in a 3t, and they all fit very well.
