Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Sauvginon Blanc is light, crisp, smooth and very easy to sip. This food friendly wine is the perfect bottle to open while dinner is getting started because this wine is easy to drink without food – but pairs well with food, too. It’s also a great party wine because it’s light, clean, and refreshing – white wine drinkers will immediately like it.
Wine Enthusiast gave the 2010 92 points, and the Winemaker’s Notes say:
Grapes from a variety of terroirs throughout Napa Valley come together in this seamless, food-friendly Sauvignon Blanc that Stag’s Leap has produced since the early 1980s. They combine estate-grown grapes with those purchased from a handful of skilled, fastidious farmers to create a wine that is complex, yet crisp and refreshing, and versatile with a wide range of dishes and myriad occasions, from patio aperitif to elegant dinner party.

Casual Summer Party
Like I said, this is a great party wine. However, it’s around $24, so you probably want to keep your party small (unless you have an unlimited budget, then, by all means! Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Sauvignon Blanc for the masses!)
I’d have a small dinner party or a late morning brunch.
Pairings | Food
Seafood, mild cheeses, salads, and party sandwiches
This is a great party wine that compliments smooth and creamy cheeses like goat cheese, and would be an excellent brunch wine to serve with cucumber sandwiches, pimento cheese, and chicken salad bites. This wine could carry a brunch – it would pair well with an entire menu of brunch-y foods like cucumber sandwiches, pimento cheese, quiches, and country ham biscuits. For a dinner, I’d start out with this wine for the appetizers and lead into a first course with a salad. This wine pairs well with goat cheese – so a salad with cranberries, pine nuts, goat cheese and a mild vinaigrette would really show off this wine.
This is also an excellent wine to serve with your main course, and we enjoyed ours tonight with a clams & fettuccine.
Easy Clams & Fettuccine in a white wine sauce recipe
This Food Network clams & fettuccine recipe is so simple to follow, I was surprised that a gourmet dish could be so easy and quick!

Colorful, chic & bright
Day drinking during the summer calls for a light & refreshing white wine, and this fits the criteria. Think a Lilly Pulitzer dress or a brightly patterned skirt paired with a just-returned-from-the-drycleaner pressed white collared shirt, or a tailored shirt with shorts for a sophisticated casual look. Monogrammed hats are not out of the question when drinking this wine.
