Farmstead Restaurant in Napa is a farm-to-table concept and serves up fresh, seasonal cuisine. We had a leisurely lunch at this farm dining establishment. Don’t let the mason jars and country chic decor fool you: this is not country cookin’ – this is wine country cooking (notice the use of the g) and the cuisine is farm-fresh, Napa style.
We started out with the wood grilled castroville artichoke with sauce gribiche and lemon – and if you follow this blog, you’ll recall that it took me an unsophisticated minute to remember how to eat an artichoke …
Anyway. The cheddar biscuits with honey are as amazing as they look… in fact, every dish we tried was as amazing at the pictures look. Will had the fish of the day, a salmon with garden succotash and I enjoyed the California trout with mushrooms, fennel, almonds and bacon vinaigrette. mmm.
