After an afternoon of winery hopping, a day ending with a dining experience like Mustard Grill makes for nearly-perfect day. This is another upscale casual restaurant with superb service and an amazing menu that would require a coat and tie in nearly any other city, but in Napa, jeans and casual attire are the norm.
To my knowledge, every restaurant in Napa will let you bring your own bottle of wine for a corkage fee, but Will and I decided to try one off the menu – and we opted for one of our favorites, the Quivera Zinfandel, a food-friendly, smooth and rich red wine that complimented our upscale comfort food.
Mustard’s is known for one dish, and this one is the star of the menu for a reason: the Famous Mongolian Pork Chop with housemade mustard and sweet/sour red cabbage. Flavor overload. I will never be able to eat another pork chop without reminiscing about this one.
This is one restaurant we will certainly revisit, and I definitely recommend ordering the pork chop at Mustard’s Grill in Napa if you’re in the area. In fact, I don’t think I’d recommend considering another item on the menu – it was that good.
