HAVE YOU SEEN BALLERS?
Yes? Let’s be best friends.
No? Stop what you’re doing (after you read this scintillating blog post about wine) and tune into HBO Now for the delight that is Ballers.
I’m assuming this is what the legions loved about Entourage. (Never watched it. Must have been the years we refused to upgrade to premium channels.) The characters are football stars with redunkulous (a more exaggerated form of ridiculous) funds, which they spend as fast as it’s transferred into their bank accounts on frivolous things like cars and parties and mansions with bubble dance party rooms.
The Rock is incredible. (Pronounced like you would in spanish class: in-cred-ee-blay) Funny, sharp, smart, quirky.
Of course a show like this requires a sparkling rosè (PS – Pronounced ros-ay. Not rose like the flower, which I overheard someone order at a restaurant. I blushed the color of a red rose when I heard it). So we turn to Mumm Napa Sparkling Rosè. It’s affordable enough to pop open to watch a TV show, but still… it’s sparkling… so it’s baller.
Not that you should ever require an excuse to enjoy sparkling.
We brought this bottle over to enjoy with our BFFs at their new house. The children entertained each other and ate Annie’s shells and cheese. Adults drank sparkling rosè in crystal champagne flutes (thanks, wedding guests!) and enjoyed spurts of adult conversation in between pacifying children and baby. Good times.
Point is: this is a fantastic bottle to enjoy with friends.
It’s equally fantastic to open at home while watching Ballers.
It’s sharp, crisp, and a little fruity – easy to drink, easy to share.
This sophisticated sparkling is perfect to pair with your favorite jeans, a large, breezy scarf, and diamond studs – put together, yet simple. And comfortable.

Sparkling always makes an excellent starter to enjoy with appetizers or a salad course – the Mumm Napa Sparkling Rosè will compliment lighter, citrusy flavors like a caesar salad or summer grouper dish with zucchini and crisp white corn and sweeter dishes like Pad Thai.

This makes a great bottle to bring to a friend’s house as a hostess gift. If you bring it chilled, that’s a solid hint to open it on the spot.
We have labels that say “Cheers! Love, the Gravelys” that we stick on bottles of wine we bring to friend’s houses – makes an easy gift to bring. Also, photo wine labels make a really fun gift or detail for a party!
Pink sparkling looks pretty in sparkling crystal champagne flutes. Waterford Lismore is an excellent choice.

Cool, soulful, easy listening, good beats – they have a great sound.
Free People Flare Jeans
Thank the good heavens flare jeans are back… much more flattering than skin-hugging skinny jeans. Let’s keep these around, please?
You can never go wrong with diamond studs.
The scarf pictured at the top was actually a photo for pants but I liked the way it was tied. Here’s a similar yellow scarf. (and this yellow one with flamingos is cute, too.
