The best way to shop for groceries is to not step foot in the grocery store at all.
You’re probably wondering, “how is that even possible?” And no: it’s not ordering things like granola bars and toilet paper on Amazon. Real groceries: produce and all.
Maybe you are one of the people on this planet that loves to cook, with an arsenal of amazing recipes, and planning meals is a breeze for you. I, unfortunately, am most definitely not one of those people. I don’t mind cooking if I have the time and all of the ingredients, which rarely happens because I arrive at the store without a solid list.
Last year, we tried Plated, and I loved it because I did not have to stroll through grocery store aisles hunting for the ingredients – they all arrived at my doorstep, in a cooler box. And I love that service, but it’s not exactly the most practical way to cook at home. It’s more of a gourmet treat. I know a lot of people also use Blue Apron, too.
No: this is different. Revolutionary. And I can’t believe it’s offered for $4.95, and I’ve ignored the service for so many years.
Lowes Foods will send someone to go up and down the aisles on your behalf and put everything on your list in your shopping cart for you. Bag up your groceries. And deliver them straight to your car.
I’m fairly certain other grocery stores offer the same service. I’d always noticed the in-store advertisements in the periphery but never paid much attention to it. Since I’m at home on maternity leave and have a little time to think instead of my usual GO GO GO speed, my husband suggested I try it. So I looked it up, and shopped online. And it was so simple.
In my favorite PJs, I shopped online, which is a very easy process. You can browse by section or just type in the item at the top, select the one you want, and add it to your shopping cart. I drove up to the call box, announced my arrival, paid with my credit card on a portable credit card thing, and groceries were loaded into my car. Infant sleeping in the back. Done.
For all the busy mamas out there (or those that have plenty of time but don’t want to spend it in the grocery store) – try your local grocery store online ordering service. It’s magical!
