Wow… I started this blog as a baby guide, with a little 6 month old, and now we are preparing him for Kindergarten. I am so excited for him! And as a school supply shopping lover (nerd?) – I’m excited for all of the back to school gear we get to buy! He’s going to be wearing a uniform (YAY! No thought in a school wardrobe… that seriously takes the pressure off..) so really, we don’t have too much to buy.
My son carries a 30+ year old Mr. T lunchbox that my husband carried back in the 1980s and we have no plans to update it. Mr. T is a character and trend which transcends time – which is not necessarily the case for all characters. My son LOVES Paw Patrol now, but what if mid-year he decides that Paw Patrol is no longer acceptable? Not that I would, but buying all new school supplies to adjust to this new cool is not something I’d like to consider… we’re sticking to the basics.
I’ve picked out classic & preppy backpacks that won’t go out of style mid-school-year. We have the LL Bean one with his monogram on it, of course. This is the standard preppy classic. (I still have mine from college. Awesome.)
Hanna Andersson Airplane Backpack
LOVE the pattern, and of course navy and yellow is a classic preppy combination. So cute for the little aviator. Oh, probably should get some Babiators to match. (btw: polarized lenses for little kids? hmmm… not so sure about that.) Even more exciting?

North Face makes products for hiking to the summit of Kilimanjaro, so I’m sure their backpacks can withstand the elements of Kindergarten.

Also available in a cool feather pattern, orange floral, and a neutral beige/green combo. This pretty thing is so chic I kind of want one.
