We just celebrated Birthday #5 for our son, which just seems so old and so little at the same time. And this would have been a semi-traumatic event if I did not have another baby on the way (any day now!).
One of his birthday presents was this weather clock for kids, and the thing is simple but very cool, and he loves it (and I do too!) It sits in our kitchen, and has a little wireless device that sits outside the window (I placed it in between the window and screen) which registers the outdoor weather. I considered putting this clock in his room and then decided that it was better in the kitchen (so I could see it too!)
There are four sections on the clock: the time, the inside temperature, a digital little boy that indicates how you should dress based on the weather outside, and the outdoor weather temperature. The picture of the boy is what he loves the best – depending on the temperature, the boy will be wearing a hat/scarf/jacket/pants if it’s really cold, or if it’s milder just a long sleeved shirt and pants. It’s very simple but effective. And, if jackets are a battle, this will certainly substantiate your insistence on outerwear.
Also important to note: assembly was simple. I was able to program the time easily and the wireless weather device automatically syncs with the clock after you install the batteries. It takes just a few minutes to get an accurate weather reading after you place it outside, and then it’s all ready to go!
Weather Clock for Kids
The graphic kid weather dresser is available in a girl or boy motif. It’s around $25 and makes an excellent gift for a birthday.
