Doable Pinterest Discoveries
Pinterest is a delightful place to store thousands of recipes and crafts in a “maybe later” file. Occassionally, finding one that doesn’t require an obscure item or an inordinate amount of time (anything longer than 30 minutes) is rare. Last year, I discovered 2 easy thanksgiving cookies to make with our kids that fit this criteria. Both of these share ingredients, so my ambition of going from Pinterest to reality was doubled by tackling two projects.
My son (then, age 5) had a blast creating them…
and sampling the ingredients throughout the process.
For the pretzel cookies, you’ll need Chocolate chips, chocolate covered pretzels, oreos, candy corns and icing. The original blog post from Krazy Coupon Lady calls for candy eyes but we used black and white cookie icing from the grocery store.
The other one is a bit more ambitious because it requires making Rice Krispie treats, but still really easy and uses some of the same ingredients. Rather than the chocolate wafers, you can use half an oreo. The glue is the melted chocolate just like the one above. You can read the instructions over on Pinterest from Shugary Sweets.
Happy Thanksgiving y’all!
