My name is Hatton (like Manhattan) and I live in Myrtle Beach, SC. This is my mom blog. The Good Taste Guide is a collection of posts about my favorite things: food, wine, photography, style & mom life.
My Mission: Let’s get rid of the mom guilt
I want to change the conversation about working moms, and shift from the characters that seem to permeate all articles about working moms. You’ve read these articles: they are funny, they are heartbreaking, they make you question. No matter the style, the tone is harmful to moms who feel the pressure to “do it all” and when all they read is stress, feeling like a failure, and chaos, it paints an unrealistic picture about what a working mom life is: normal. (Well, as normal as anyone’s life really can be.) The point is: everyone has stress, chaos, and failure. It’s life and that’s unavoidable. Having the “what if” doubts about work and motherhood is unnecessary. My mom summed it up to me when my son was a newborn:
“Your generation overanalyzes it. We just went to work and didn’t think about it.”
Let’s stop overanalyzing. Let’s just go to work, kick a**, love our babies, and be grateful for the opportunities we have as working moms.
A Thank You Note to You
Thank you so much for making a purchase from my little blog. I appreciate your style and good taste, since you’ve selected something that I featured, which means we’d probably get along splendidly over a glass of great wine. (I would most likely opt for sparkling, if we were to get together in the afternoon, or a good Cab if we were to get together for after dinner drinks.) I hope you enjoy your stylish purchase or a wine I recommended, and would love for you leave me a comment, send me a tweet, say hello by email or be my friend on Instagram.
Interested in partnering with me?
Reviews: If you’re a mom run business, I love to support and promote companies like Seesaw Society.
Advertising: I also run sponsored posts like this one about Cottonelle, which I find to be the most effective form of advertising for a company. It lives on past a banner ad on a sidebar and it’s much more interesting. For pricing, send me an email.

And a little disclaimer. Because all the other blogs are doing it.
ALL opinions are my own. If I don’t have something nice to say, I don’t say it all. So there. I review the products that I love… and some of them I am compensated for. Like products on Amazon. I am huge fan of Amazon, and don’t mind reviewing their products all of the time… because I’m a happy Amazon customer. See my post entitled “how to start a mom blog” where I talk about all the ways I could make money from this blog.
