Hi, nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping by Freshmom!

I’m a full time working mom (I handle the marketing for The Market Common in Myrtle Beach), married to an amazing (and very very funny) man, and have a sweet baby boy who was born last February named Thomas. Thomas has a full time staff that includes my wonderful in-laws, Mama Lee and Big Daddy, that take care of him every day. He also spends some time at day care because they have cool toys. His other grandmother (my mom), Mishy, visits often (and I count down the days for each visit.) I’m an only child, and my status escalated to a whole new level when I had Thomas – my dad thinks Thomas is the best baby in the world, and I completely agree. Thomas is a very loved little baby, and we are a very blessed family.

What is this blog about?

Before Thomas was 6 months old, I stared at him on the video monitor in the middle of the night every night to make sure he was still breathing. I was so nervous walking up and down the stairs with him that I actually scooted down the stairs one at a time for a few days. Then, I bought a Mobi wrap on the advice of a friend of a friend, and after reading the instruction manual 50 times and figuring out the extremely complicated procedure to wrap the thing in a criss-cross pattern around my back, stomach & shoulders, discarded it after realizing 20 minutes to prepare for the stairs was a little bit unreasonable. I’m not an expert, I’m learning. And this blog is about all of the things that I’ve tried so far. Check out the blog >

What is Freshmom and what does it mean?

I’m Freshmom – I’m the writer. My name is really Hatton. My friend, Kasey (writer of Eat with a Sporck) came up with the name. I like it because it’s a play on Freshman. But I’m not in college… I’m a new mom.
